AFCON 2024: Possible Super Eagles opponents revealed
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been placed in Pot 2 for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations draw.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the seedings for the draw on Thursday afternoon.
In the group stage, Jose Peseiro’s team could meet hosts Cote d’Ivoire, holders Teranga Lions of Senegal, Atlas Lions of Morocco, Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, and Pharaohs of Egypt.
The Super Eagles, together with Ghana, Cameroon, Mali, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Burkina Faso, are in Pot 2.
South Africa, Cape Verde, Guinea, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea, and Mauritania are in Pot 3.
Guinea Bissau, Namibia, Mozambique, Angola, Gambia, and Tanzania are in Pot 4.
The draw will take place on Thursday, October 12 in Cote d’Ivoire.
The biennial competition will be held in Cote d’Ivoire from January 13 to February 11.
