2027 AFCON: Nigeria-Benin Republic bid fails as CAF announce Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania as host
Nigeria’s attempt to team up with the Benin Republic to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations has failed.
This comes after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) chose to grant Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania the rights.
At the conclusion of its executive committee meeting on Wednesday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) made the declaration.
Morocco was awarded the privilege to host the 2025 AFCON finals.
The biggest football tournament in Africa was last held in Nigeria in 2000.
Together with Ghana, the nation co-hosted the event.
