Kogi polls: APC administration has failed – Ododo dumps party for AA

Yahaya Ododo, a retired military officer, has criticized Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, claiming that his administration has failed the state’s residents.

Ododo, who recently switched parties from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Action Alliance (AA) in Ankpa, called for a change in the State’s balance of power.

The former APC chieftain revealed that his decision to leave the party was motivated by the need to instill equality, fairness, and justice in the State’s governorship history. He joined his supporters in AA under the auspices of the Ankpa Forum of Political Unity.

He claimed that the current administration stumbled into Lugard House and emphasized that Kogi West should now deliver the State’s future governor.

Ododo stated, “I have been in Kogi State politics for a long time,” while openly endorsing Otunba Olayinka Braimoh for governor of the AA. I had previously worked for Chief Bayo Ojo, a former minister of justice and attorney general of the federation, as well as Chief Olushola Akanmode, a former deputy chief of staff to the president. We are prepared to support the AA governorship candidate in the upcoming election.

Samuel Omale, a former PDP veteran in the Ojoku Ward of the Ankpa Local Government Area who recently joined AA with his supporters, also spoke. He instructed the new members to visit all of the local government’s nooks and crannies to solicit support for the party.

At the defection ceremony, Braimoh responded by telling the new entrants and his supporters that he is on a mission to lift Kogi State and its residents out of poverty.

He asked the Ankpa electorate for more votes.
