Again, Gunmen behead policeman in Aba
On Thursday, during a stop-and-search operation along Umuode/Isiahia in the Osisioma Ngwa local government area of Abia State, gunmen ambushed police officers.
According to sources, the event, which occurred at around 4 p.m., terrified the Umuode village because they thought the police may invade them.
The gunmen beheaded one of the operatives.
It was reported that as the shooters fled with the policeman’s head, leaving the other parts of his corpse inside the car, other team members fled to safety with their ammunition.
It was discovered that the gunmen followed the police squad, who had been conducting operations in the neighborhood lately.
The team’s affiliation with the Eziama Police Division has come to light, casting doubt on the legitimacy of their operations inside the community given that they do not have jurisdiction over the area in question.
A few months ago, three gunmen decapitated an Assistant Superintendent of Police while they were walking down East Street in the Aba South local government district.
Maureen Chinaka, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), did not pick up when calls were made to her.
