JUST IN: Gov Adeleke submits N273bn budget to Osun Assembly
Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State, has presented a budget of N273, 908, 997, 410:00 to the Osun State House of Assembly.
The budget is included in the Appropriations Bill for 2024.
Governor Adeleke said the budget was divided into N165, 654, 976, 700:00 for recurrent expenditure and N108, 254, 020, 710:00 for capital expenditure while presenting the budget at plenary on Thursday.
Adeleke stated that “the budget is aimed at rebuilding the battered economy of the state.”
“This budget presentation is in accordance with the state’s existing laws, which require that the budget be presented to the House before the end of the fiscal year.”
The Governor told the House of Assembly that the state would be brought to greater heights while thanking them for their patience.
He also solicited the House’s support for the future years.
Earlier, Assembly Speaker Adewale Egbedun indicated the House’s willingness to collaborate with the Executive branch of government to ensure the budget’s smooth implementation.
“This budget will be approved with a strong sense of responsibility.
“The Assembly will deliver a budget that addresses the challenges in the state.”
