Chidera Keneth, a young man said to be a student at Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, has reportedly drowned in Umuchime River in Umuahia.
The student, who was thought to be his parents’ only male child, drowned in the river this weekend while trying to ‘cool off’ with several of his buddies who came with him on a swimming vacation.

According to Platinum Times, Chidera did not understand the tide and depth of the river before diving in to swim.
Before his death, he was claimed to have come from Uzuakoli in Bende LGA of the state.
Nonetheless, the State Police Command and the Abia State Polytechnic officials are concerned.
