Tinubu arrives N’Assembly, presents budget of ‘Renewed Hope’

President Bola Tinubu has arrived at the National Assembly complex for the presentation of the 2024 budget.

The President arrived at the N’Assembly at 11:04 a.m. on Wednesday, amid strong security.

The Federal Executive Council adopted the N27.5tn Appropriation Bill for 2024 on Monday.

This is an increase over the N26.01tn previously considered by the council.

Tinubu had three weeks ago forwarded to both chambers of the National Assembly the 2024 – 2026 MTEF and Fiscal Strategy Paper, in which N26.1tn was suggested as the entire expenditure profile for the fiscal year 2024.

After two weeks of interactive sessions with heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies on revenue and expenditure predictions created for them, the Senate approved the MTEF through the Finance Committee.

It expressly approved the N26.1tn budget proposal for 2024 as well as other criteria submitted by the President.
