JUST IN: Uzodimma, Ekwunife, Ubah, others in closed-door meeting with Ganduje

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, and two former Anambra governorship candidates, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and Uche Ekwunife, are currently meeting behind closed doors with the All Progressives Congress leadership.

The APC bigwigs came at the secretariat about 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday and were greeted warmly by the APC’s National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, before the meeting began.

Andy Uba, a former Anambra South Senator and party chieftain, was also among the entourage.

Although the agenda for their meeting has not been made public, a source at the secretariat revealed that the ruling party is attempting to reform and restructure Anambra APC in order to become more dynamic in front of the 2018 gubernatorial, presidential, and National Assembly elections.

“From what we’ve heard, the NWC, in collaboration with the APC governors, is attempting to model the Anambra political structure and machinations after the Rivers chapter.” “There are also rumors that the new APC structure will be handed over to Senators Ubah and Ekwunife,” the insider added.

The political roundtable comes only one week after Anambra APC formally welcomed Ubah, Ekwunife, and their followers.

It was Ubah’s first visit to the APC fold in Anambra since joining the party on October 12.
