Ijaw youths, Rep members storm Rivers govt house

On Friday, two members of the House of Representatives, Awaji-Inombek Abiante and Boma Goodhead, staged a solidarity march to the Rivers State Government House in support of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

They were accompanied by a few members of the Ijaw Youths Council.

In the House of Representatives, Abiante represents the Andoni/Opobo/Nkiru Federal Constituency, while Goodhead represents the Asari-Toru/Akuku-Toru Federal Constituency.

The two federal lawmakers led the IYC on a march from the UTC Junction to Government House, then to the State House of Assembly on Moscow Road in Port Harcourt, where they addressed the youths.

The march came after the state was rocked by a political crisis caused by the feud between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.

Commissioners and other cabinet officials have started retiring for personal reasons.
