Senate screens 11 Justices for Supreme Court

The Senate confirmed the nominations of 11 new Supreme Court Justices on Thursday.

Their confirmation came after the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, and Legal Affairs considered its report.

The Senate adopted the committee’s recommendation after screening the applicants.

Senator Mohammed Monguno of Borno North, the committee’s chairman, submitted the findings to the Senate.

President Bola Tinubu urged the Senate to ratify the 11 nominations on Wednesday, December 20th.

The applicants were suggested by the National Judicial Council, NJC, to fill vacancies created by the deaths and resignations of various Supreme Court Justices.
