Confusion as Lagos residents yell at Tinubu, shouts ‘we are hungry’ (video)
On Friday, residents of Lagos Island and traders at the famed Idumota market protested President Bola Tinubu, yelling in Yoruba, “Ebi npa wa oo,” which means “we are hungry.”
The vendors who lined both sides of the road as the president’s convoy traveled through the always-busy market declined to hail him, instead continuing to complain about their woes, which they blamed on the government.
Underneath the complaining voices in the film, neighbors were heard claiming that the presidency was aware of the people’s plans, which was why there was such tight security. The supposed first proposal, however, was not made public.
The President is in Lagos for Christmas and New Year’s.
According to Platinumtimes, Nigerians are now celebrating the Yuletide despite a slew of economic issues ranging from a lack of cash to the increasing price of the premium motor fuel known as petrol.
