Couple apprehended while on the way to sacrifice their son

Spanish authorities announced on Saturday that they had arrested a French couple earlier in December for attempting to “sacrifice” their five-year-old kid, whom they felt was “possessed,” in the Sahara.
The couple was apprehended on December 21 in the southern Spanish port of Algeciras, as the family prepared to board a ship to Tangiers, Morocco.
According to the Guardia Civil police force, they apprehended a “couple of French origin” who “intended to murder their five-year-old son in the Sahara, believing him to be possessed.”
Both parents had “psychiatric problems” and were wanted in Europe for kidnapping a minor, according to the Guardia Civil.
A Spanish judge has remanded the couple in jail.
The infant is in good health and has been sent to a minor receiving center in Spain before being returned to France.
