Mr Safiyanu Andaha, the council chairman of Akwanga Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, has been kidnapped.
Mr Safiyanu was kidnapped along with Alhaji Adamu Custom.
According to Platinum Times, the victims were seized by the daredevil assailants on Monday about 8:30 p.m., while they were enjoying New Year’s Day.
Mr Haruna Kassimu, the Special Adviser to the Nasarawa State Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, verified the occurrence.
Security agencies, he claims, reacted quickly, but the shooters fled with the council chairman to an unknown location.
DSP Ramhan Nansel, the State Police Public Relations Officer, verified the development to our correspondent on Monday night.
He stated that the police, in coordination with other security organizations, were on the hunt for the kidnappers in order to ensure the victims’ release.
