Ms Halima Shehu, the National Coordinator and CEO of the National Social Investment Program Agency, has been suspended and investigated by President Bola Tinubu for alleged financial fraud.
With the suspension and inquiry into the charges, Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo, the National N-POWER Program Manager, has been designated as acting NC/CEO until the investigation is completed.
This action comes just three months after the Senate confirmed her position.
Shehu worked as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, where she leveraged her banking and career experience to ensure the program’s digitalization.
From 2017 to 2022, the former banker worked in the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
