Ondo govt release burial arrangement for late Gov, Akeredolu

The funeral arrangements for the late governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, have been made public by the Ondo State Government.
The funeral will be between February 15 and February 25.
The agenda of events that was retrieved stated that a crusade in Akure, the state capital, on February 15 would kick off the late governor’s funeral.
On January 5, Platinum Times reported that the remains of late Ondo State Governor Akeredolu have arrived in Nigeria from Germany.
The late governor’s spokesperson, Richard Olatunde, posted on his X handle stating that the body’s plane arrived on Friday, January 5, 2024, at approximately 3:39 p.m.
The late governor passed away in Germany, and his remains were transported into the nation from there.
The deceased’s immediate younger brother, Prof. Wole Akeredolu, led his siblings in receiving the body along with his wife, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, and their children.
Meanwhile the burial program released by the state government read,
“FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Aketi, SAN, CON. 15th – 25rh February, 2024. Thursday 15 – Crusade, Akure; Friday 16, Jumat Service, Akure; Monday 19, February 2024 – Valedictory Service & NBA Tributes, Ibadan.
“4pm – Service of Songs @ All Saints Church, Jericho, & Jacob and Grace chapel, Ologun -eru simultaneously; Tuesday 20 – Commendation Service @ 10 am all saints church Jericho. & Lying in State @ his residence-Jericho Ibadan; Wednesday 21, Ondo state programme @ Akure from 10am.
“Thursday 22.Service of Songs @ Owo, 4-7pm; St. Andrews church Owo; Friday 23, Funeral Service @ 10 am, St.Andrews church, Owo; Reception @ Mydas hotel; Sunday 25 – Thanksgiving Service @10 am,st. Andrews church Owo.”
It gathers that the governors from the six states of the Southwest region of Nigeria including, Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, and Ekiti under the aegis of South-West Governors Forum, said they would be collaborating with Aiyedatiwa and the family of Akeredolu, to give the ex-governor a befitting burial.
The governors through Governor Dapo Abiodun who led three other South-West governors on a condolence visit to the family of the late Governor Akeredolu at their Jericho, Ibadan residence said that the Forum had communicated the same message to the family of the late governor.
The governors said that a joint committee would be set up to achieve their objective.
Those in attendance during the condolence visit included Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti and Oyo State deputy governor, Bayo Lawal, who represented Governor Seyi Makinde. (SaharaReporters)
