Tinubu, Obasanjo storm Imo for Uzodinma’s inauguration
Obasanjo and a few other dignitaries were seen at the Dan Anyiam Stadium event.

Among the prominent personalities present during Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State’s inauguration for a second term in office were President Bola Tinubu and former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Around 1:00 PM on Monday, Tinubu, who had previously attended an event in Abuja for the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, touched down in Owerri’s Sam Mbakwe Airport.
Uzodimma and other Imo chiefs received him, along with a few government officials.
Along many other dignitaries, Obasanjo was also spotted at the Dan Anyiam Stadium event.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas and Senate President Godswill Akpabio were also present. Onyekachi Ibezim, the governor of Anambra, was in the position of deputy to Charles Soludo.
Residents of Imo State disregarded the sit-at-home movement in the Southeast and turned out in large numbers for the swearing-in ceremony. They marched to the Dan Anyiam Stadium through the streets while donning vibrant clothing.
The All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Uzodimma defeated Athan Achonu of the Labour Party (LP) and Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to win a second term in office, almost two months before to Monday’s inauguration.
The PDP candidate received 71, 503 votes, the governor received 540,308 votes, and Nneji Achonu received 64,081 votes.
