Victor Osimhen, Super Eagles striker has stated that he could retire if his team wins the Africa Cup of Nations.
Osimhen completed 2023 as the CAF African Footballer of the Year after winning the Serie A tittle with Napoli in the previous campaign.
The 25-year-old was placed eighth in the rankings of the Ballon d’Or as well.
But according to Osimhen, winning the Cup of Nations with Nigeria would be the best of all.
Prior to Nigeria’s current AFCON group stage encounter, Osimhen acknowledged that taking home the trophy “would be one of the best moments” of his life.
“I have done that with Napoli; I have made history, but no matter what I do, no matter how many goals I have scored, to be able to win the AFCON, I would go a long way in my life but probably when I do that, I am done,” he admitted.
“I am really looking forward to winning something with the Super Eagles.”
