Ekong ruled out of Guinea-Bissau clash over injury

William Troost-Ekong, Super Eagles defender, has been ruled out of the game against Guinea-Bissau today.

Troost-Ekong suffered a hamstring injury and was seen with an ice pack on his right knee.

Last Thursday, the 30-year-old POAK defender scored the Super Eagles’ winning goal against host country Côte d’Ivoire before suffering an injury.

Before the competition began, the Eagles lost Taiwo Awoniyi, Victor Boniface, Umar Sadiq, and Wilfred Ndidi to injury.

However, a win today against Guinea-Bissau will ensure the Super Eagles’ round of 16 qualification.
