Tyla, a South African musician, won Best African Music Performance at the Grammys.
Tyla, who had her breakthrough with the popular song ‘Water’ in 2023, defeated a lineup of Nigerian artists that included Davido, Burna Boy, Asake, and Ayra Starr.
Tyla was overjoyed, saying she didn’t expect it but was grateful to receive her first Grammy at the age of 22.
Davido and Burna Boy also failed to win in other categories for which they were nominated so far.
