Chopper crash: What Herbert Wigwe tweeted before his shocking death

Death, they argue, is unavoidable. However, depending on the circumstances, it may come as a startling shock to the bereaved family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances.

On occasion, the deceased unknowingly predict their death while remaining unaware of the grieving family members, friends, colleagues, and acquitances.

Herbert Wigwe, the group managing director/CEO of Access Bank, one of Nigeria’s giant banks, who perished in a helicopter crash in the United States on Friday, appeared to have foreseen his own demise.

In a January 19, 2024 post on X (previously Twitter), Wigwe urged his followers and the general public to value life, saying, ‘Let us number our days.’

He wrote:

“Today and always, let us remember that life is a precious gift – a chance to breathe, feel, love, experience and connect.

“Let’s honor this gift by living with purpose, kindness, and gratitude, making every moment count. Let us number our days.”

Platinum Times Nigeria reports that a chopper transporting Herbert Wigwe, the CEO of Access Holdings, crashed, killing him as well as about five others in California, United States.

According to sources, the helicopter was on its way to Las Vegas when it crashed near the Nevada-California border late Friday night.

Wigwe, his wife, and kid were in the chopper when it crashed in California near the Nevada border, as was Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group).

There were six passengers onboard, but no survivors have been recovered thus far.

The US government verified that everyone on board died.
