President Tinubu returns to Abuja after African Union summit in Ethiopia

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following a four-day official travel to Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Abeba, where he attended the 37th Ordinary Session of the African Union’s Assembly of Heads of State and Government.
President Tinubu, who landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at around 3:36 p.m., was greeted by senior government officials, led by Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federal (SGF).

While in Addis Abeba, President Tinubu was appointed by the African Union as its Champion for Human Resources for Health and Community Health Delivery Partnership.
He also met with other African leaders to propose answers to the countries’ common difficulties, as well as to discuss refocusing the continental organization for better service delivery in a variety of areas including as healthcare, commerce, and security.
He utilized the occasion, while addressing the Assembly on Saturday, to notify the continent that Nigeria is ready to host the African Central Bank on its soil, as agreed in the Abuja Treaty.
Other government officials who met the President at the airport included his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu; Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma; Minister of State for Defense, Bello Matawalle; and the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullah Ganduje.
Others were the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Yusuf Bichi; and other security officials.
