JUST-IN: Tinubu meets Dangote, Elumelu, others behind closed doors in Presidential Villa

On Sunday, President Bola Tinubu held a “crucial” meeting with some representatives of the organised private sector.

The meeting is being held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The conference was attended by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Groups; Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Holding and Transcorp Plc; Abdulsamad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Group; Wale Tinubu, and other private sector representatives.

This comes as Nigerians face economic hardship.

The current suffering is the result of a spike in the dollar-to-naira exchange rate.

Platinum Times recalls that at the close of business on Friday, FMDQ data revealed that the naira had fallen to N1,665.50 per US dollar from N1571.31 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Nigeria issued draft guidelines for a broad policy involvement in BDCs, including a ban on street trading and a new per capita stake threshold for registration.
