PDP stronger, united Nationwide: Gov Oborevwori

Delta State Governor Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori informed the public over the weekend that the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is more united and stronger at the ward and national levels.

Governor Oborevwori revealed this during his address at the PDP stakeholders conference in Asaba, noting that members and the party are unified and working together everywhere.

While stressing that members are more united across the South-South, the Governor stated that “Delta state is firm, the party is strong.” We are connected, and there is cooperation everywhere. There’s nothing to worry about. Even at the national level, we are doing our best.

Governor Oborevwori also expressed optimism that the party’s ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses will be held this year once the National Executive Council (NEC) meets to approve the process.

The Delta State governor also declared that elections for local government council chairmen will take place soon, with their tenures expiring on March 8.

He urged leaders and party stakeholders to prepare for the council election.

Former state governors Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, in separate comments, urged party leaders to continue working together for the party’s long-term triumph in future elections.

Earlier, in his welcome remarks, the party’s state chairman, Chief Kingsley Esiso, praised Governor Oborovweri for his achievements since taking office.

Esiso also praised party leaders and stakeholders for their efforts to the party’s win in the previous general elections.

He encouraged all members to continue promoting the party and government initiatives in their wards and local governments.

The governor received a vote of confidence for his exemplary work throughout the state, which was the meeting’s high point.

The proposal was moved by Chief Esther Uduehi, seconded by Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba, and unanimously approved by all stakeholders.
