BREAKING: Tinubu orders suspension of REA Director, 3 others over misappropriation of funds

President Bola Tinubu has approved the immediate suspension of Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, the Managing Director/CEO of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), and three Executive Directors of the Agency.

President Tinubu has ordered a comprehensive inquiry into the acts of the aforementioned officials, who are suspected of indulging in fraudulent spending of more than N1.2 billion over the last two years. Some of the diverted monies have already been recovered by anti-corruption authorities..

Three Executive Directors of the Agency includes:

(1) Olaniyi Alaba Netufo — Executive Director, Corporate Services

(2) Barka Sajou — Executive Director, Technical Services

(3) Sa’adatu Balgore — Executive Director, Rural Electrification Fund (REF)
