Soldiers killing: Delta Gov Oborevwori meets Tinubu in Aso Rock

Sheriff Oborevwori, the governor of Delta State, has met with President Bola Tinubu to discuss the massacre of over a dozen military soldiers in the state’s Okuoma town.
17 military personnel, including a lieutenant colonel, two majors, a captain, and 12 soldiers, were slain during a “peacekeeping mission” in the Okuoma hamlet.
While the government has condemned the incident while promising that perpetrators would face the wrath of the law, the visit of the governor to the Presidential Villa may have been spurred by the incident.
Briefing State House correspondents after meeting behind closed-doors with the President, the governor said that the situation is under control, assuring that there will be no further attacks.
The governor declined to confirm the report of reprisal attacks allegedly carried out by the military and the number of casualties, saying that there are certain things he cannot say in the public.
He said that he met with the security heads in Bomadi on Monday but has been unable to meet with the community involved because the place of the incident is completely deserted.
