Kwara PDP Denise rumors of plans to suspend Saraki
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chapter in Kwara State has denied reports that the party’s State Working Committee, SWC, intended to suspend Dr. Bukola Saraki, the former Senate President.
A statement released following the SWC meeting in the state capital of Ilorin advised party members and supporters to maintain composure and reject the rumors that the former two-term governor of the state had been suspended.
The statement was made in a joint statement by the state party chairman, Babatunde Mohammed, and the state secretary, Abdulrazaq Lawal.
“We urge our party members and supporters to be calm and discountenance the purported rumoured suspension of our leader, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, by the State Working Committee members as mischievously circulated by some people aimed at causing disharmony in the party,” the communique signed by the state party Chairman, Babatunde Mohammed and the state Secretary, Abdulrazaq Lawal said.
The document stated that the larger meeting held on June 1, 2023, to evaluate the results of the general elections, “was misconstrued or misrepresented by some disgruntled elements.”
