BREAKING: Millions lost as Fire razes Power Line market, Aba

At the Powerline Market in Aba, Abia State, a night fire damaged goods and money worth millions of naira.

A local resident claims that the fire started out as smoke in one area of the market at around midnight before spreading to other locations.

Although the source of the fire was yet unknown, victims claimed flammable materials stored everywhere in the market could have been to blame.

Agu Igwe, one of the victims, claimed he got a call from a friend in the middle of the night informing him that his store was on fire.

Igwe shouted out that his burned-down business had lately been restocked as he described the loss while unable to hold back his sobs.

Another merchant claimed to have borrowed money from a nearby financial institution to make purchases.

The plastic and junk dealer bemoaned the destruction of the weekend sales revenues he had retained in his shop.

The victims requested financial aid from the Abia State Government and kindhearted people.
