Just In: Tinubu declares state of emergency on food security

President Bola Tinubu has declared a state of emergency on food security in Nigeria

His spokesperson, Dele Alake, informed the media of this on Thursday during a briefing.

The President is aware of the rising price of food and how it affects people’s wallets, according to Alake.

He pointed out that President Tinubu had issued a directive for the National Security Council to have jurisdiction over all issues relating to the cost and availability of food and water, which are necessities for human survival.

The instruction was reportedly in accordance with the Tinubu administration’s stance on making sure that the most vulnerable are assisted.
