Tinubu to Nigerian youths: ‘Be patient, I understand your pain’ as hardship bites hard

Young people in Nigeria have been urged by President Bola Tinubu to have patience and understanding with the hardships brought on by his administration’s economic policies.

According to Tinubu, the difficulties the nation is currently experiencing will eventually end and be replaced with a more just, successful, and inclusive economy.

At a meeting with the National Youth Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday in Abuja, the nation’s capital, he provided the assurance.

The President said, “I make my pledge to the country that no decision will be difficult for this administration to take for the prosperity and unity of this country. Economic reforms could be slow. Be patient a little more.

“I can assure you that I understand the pains you are going through. It’s not easy to get out the monster of over forty years called fuel subsidy.’’

According to Platinum Times Nigeria, following the elimination of the fuel subsidy two months ago, Nigerians have had to deal with additional hardship.

The withdrawal of fuel subsidies has resulted in price increases for food products, goods, and services, including transportation.
