Gov. Caleb Mutfwang appoints Mikel Obi as adviser on sports

Caleb Mutfwang, the Governor of Plateau State, has given his approval for the appointment of John Mikel Obi, a former captain of the Super Eagles, as his honorary adviser on sports.
The announcement of Mikel’s appointment was made by Gyang Bere, the governor’s director of press and public affairs.
The 36-year-old was born and grown in Jos the capital city of Plateau State.
The former Chelsea player began his career with a local club, Plateau United, before transferring to Lyn Oslo in 2004 when he was 17 years old.
Mikel had a distinguished career and won numerous championships with Chelsea, including the Europa League and UEFA Champions League.
For 14 years, the former midfielder played for Nigeria, winning the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mikel played 91 times for Nigeria and scored six goals.
In 2022, he gave up the round leather game.
