Police arrest 16 syndicates in Adamawa for alleged robbery, kidnapping

In Adamawa State, sixteen persons who were allegedly involved in kidnapping and armed robberies have been apprehended.

The 16 were apprehended during security operations in various regions of the state, primarily in the local governments of Mubi North, Gombi, and Fufore.

Suleiman Nguroje, the state police public relations officer, revealed this on Sunday. He claimed that local hunters and police operatives worked together to carry out the security operations.

“The operatives (of the Police) apprehended the suspects in a joint patrol with local hunters,” Nguroje said.

The police spokesman disclosed that six AK-47 rifles and other weapons were recovered from the suspects.

“On completion of investigation, the command will charge them to court for prosecution,” Nguroje assured.

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, particularly appreciated the local hunters for their role in arresting the suspects, and appealed for support from everyone to strengthen the police for greater performance.
