Musa Inusa, 30, of Adamawa State, has been detained for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl.
The suspect was apprehended by police officers on Tuesday following a complaint on Sunday, November 19, from Adamu Ahmed, a resident of Dikon Nasarawo in Mayo Belwa Local Government Area, who accused him of raping his daughter.
“The Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, viewed the report seriously; hence, he deployed officers of the command attached to Mayo-Belwa to investigate the allegation and effect arrest,” a statement by SP Suleiman Nguroje affirmed.
Nguroje stated further:
“Detectives swung into action and eventually arrested one suspect, Musa Inusa, 30, a close family member, in connection with the crime.”
He said further investigations revealed that the suspect is a known thief who steals domestic animals in the Nasawo Dikon community.
He added that the suspect will be prosecuted according to his crime.
