Arsenal defeats Manchester City 4-1 on penalties to clinch Community Shield tittle

Arsenal’s victory over Pep Guardiola’s team in the Community Shield on penalties gave them a psychological advantage in their pursuit of Premier League victory over Manchester City.
Cole Palmer appeared to have won it for City after a mostly forgettable 70 minutes in the season opener when the substitute curled in a beautiful shot.
Leandro Trossard, though, equalized when his effort was deflected into the goal in the 101st minute.
This forced a sudden-death shootout, where Kevin de Bruyne, a late replacement, hit the crossbar, Rodri had a shot saved, and then Fabio Vieira scored to give Arsenal the victory.
