Beheading of Rivers DPO: 2baba’s second-in-command nabbed by Police in Bayelsa

One of the killers of Late SP Bako Angbashim, former Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Ahoada Division, Rivers State, has been apprehended by Bayelsa State police.

According to Platinum Times, the apprehended suspect, Onyekachi Ikowa, 43, is the second in command to TuBaba, the leader of the feared Icelander cult group in Rivers State.

According to a statement issued by CSP Asinim Butswat, the Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, Ikowa was detained on November 18, 2023, “based on credible intelligence that he was hibernating in Yenagoa after participating in the callous murder of Late SP Bako Angbashim, in September 2023.”

The Commissioner of Police for Bayelsa State Command, CP Francis Iduh, has ordered that any of his associates who are hiding in the state be apprehended.

He also stated that the Bayelsa Command, while under his command, will not be a refuge for criminals.

The suspect has been turned over to the Rivers State Police Command to be investigated further.
