Bongo’s son arrested by Gabon military for treason

In a coup on Wednesday, the military junta in Gabon also imprisoned the president’s son, Ali Bongo, according to Alarabiya News.

According to Platinum Times, Ali Bongo, who had just been elected for a third term, was overthrown on Wednesday by senior military officers from Gabon.

According to the claim, Bongo’s son was detained for treason.

President Ali Bongo was placed under house arrest and was attended by family members and medical professionals, the military had earlier declared.

Mohammed Bazoum, who had been democratically elected president of Niger, was ousted on July 26 by a military coup.
