BREAKING: Akpabio announce Lalong, Matawalle, 17 others as ministerial-nominees
On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu’s 19 additional cabinet candidates were announced by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Former governors Gboyega Oyetola of Osun, Simon Lalong of Plateau, Bello Matawalle of Zamfara, and Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi are included on the new list.
Others include Zaphaniah Jisalo, Aliyu Abdullahi, Heineken Lokpobori, Bosun Tijani, Maryam Shetty, Isiak Salako, Tunji Alausa, Yusuf Sununu, Ibrahim Geidam, Lola John, Shuaibu Audu, Tahir Mamman, Aliyu Abdullahi, Alkali Saidu, and Yusuf Sununu.
Earlier, the Senate received the additional ministerial list that had been sent by the President’s chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The Senate President received the second list and the second batch of ministry nominees from the recently-departed Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The first batch’s 28 nominees have already been examined by the Senate.
Last Thursday, Gbajabiamila sent the red chamber the initial list of 28 nominees and promised to send more names to the upper house.
