The promotion of Frank Mba and Bala Ciroma to the position of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police has been accepted by the Police Service Commission (PSC).
About two months after the commission elevated Mba to the position of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), he now holds the higher position.
Mba was named the head of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Alagbon, Lagos State, following his promotion to AIG.
His appointment was explained by the PSC in a statement released on Friday and signed by its spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani.
“DIG Ciroma will take over for DIG Ali Janga, who retired from service and formerly served as the Police Management team’s representative for the North East geopolitical region.
“DIG Ciroma, the most senior Zone Officer, will represent the Zone going forward.
“DIG Mba will represent the South East zone and replace retired DIG John Amadi who before his retirement represented the zone,” the statement read.
