BREAKING: Tinubu appoints Bisoye Coker-Odusote as NIMC DG, others

Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote has been named the National Identity Management Commission’s (NIMC) acting director general (DG) by President Bola Tinubu.

The first term of Coker-Odusote’s appointment will be for 90 days, beginning on August 24, 2023, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.

As the substantive NIMC DG, starting on November 24, 2023, a complete term of four years will commence after the initial three months.

The President also ordered that the departing NIMC DG, Engr Aliyu Aziz, begin taking advantage of a 90-day pre-retirement leave with effect from August 24, 2023, which will eventually lead to his departure from service on November 24, 2023.

“Furthermore, President Tinubu approved the appointment of Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub to serve as the Director of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC).

“This follows the recent expiration of tenure of the former DTAC Director/CEO, Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi,” the statement read.

Ngelale said Yakub’s appointment takes immediate effect.
