Canadian Mission confirms opening of Abuja, Lagos centers for visa application

Despite the suspension of activities, the Canada High Commission in Abuja has confirmed that immigration, refugee, and citizenship applications are still being processed.
The High Commission also stated that visa application centers in Abuja and Lagos will continue to operate.
The agency had ceased operations following a fire that occurred at the commission on Monday, killing two persons.
Demilade Kosemani, a member of the High Commission’s Public Affairs Saff, issued the following message on the High Commission’s X account on Thursday:
“As we continue to mourn the passing of our dear colleague from the High Commission of Canada in Abuja, please note the following information below:
“Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada clients: processing of applications continues. Regardless of the suspension of operations at the High Commission of Canada in Abuja, the visa application centres in Abuja and Lagos remain open.”
