Carnival Traffic: Cross River govt revives Cally Air, set to commence flight

Cross River State Commissioner for Aviation, Captain Eno Utum Inah (Rtd. ), has revealed that the state government has resurrected the Aero-Cally Airline in order to increase flights to the Margaret Ekpo International Airport during the Calabar Carnival.
Cally Air, founded by Prof Ben Ayade’s administration and now jointly controlled by the state government and Aero Contractors, ceased operations due to a lack of an Air Operating Licence.
According to a statement, Aero Cally will return to Calabar to mitigate the effects of Ibom Air’s purported suspension.
He stated that the state government has reached an arrangement with Air Peace to expand its flying services to Calabar in preparation for the Carnival Calabar International Festival in December.
According to sources, Ibom Air canceled flights to the airport throughout the holiday season due to technical difficulties.
According to the Commissioner, Aero Cally will begin flights to Calabar on Thursday, November 30, 2023.
Capt Inah urged passengers to be calm as flying interventions for the Carnival and Yuletide festivals were polished.
