Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff, has approved the implementation of a Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy, GPAIP, for all Nigerian Air Force, NAF, personnel.
This was said by the NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Edward Gabkwet, on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to him, the strategy corresponds to one of the primary enablers of the CAS Command Philosophy, which focuses on’maintaining a highly motivated force by boosting welfare and infrastructural renewal.’
While many insurance policies maintained by the Ministry of Defence and the NAF Investment Ltd. cover all NAF workers, he claims they do not effectively handle several hazardous situations that troops face during their careers.
He recognized the importance of reviewing and implementing a specialized insurance plan geared to manage those threats and particular obstacles.
Abubakar stated that the servicemen would be incentivized to give their all by ensuring proper care in the event of disability or death during military operations or any other type of accident.
He went on to say that the wellbeing of NAF personnel had been a concern.
