Since its debut in late 2023, Chike’s ‘Egwu’ has had commercial success, rocketing to the top of the Turntable Top 100.
Chike enlisted the help of brilliant cinematographer Pink for the music video, which has colorful graphics that exude the excitement of the song while also paying tribute to the late Street pop sensation Mohbad.
The video, which was released on February 28, 2024, is Chike’s first of the year.
The video, shot in Lagos, portrays the city’s energy and the joyous attitude of its residents as market ladies, schoolchildren, artisans, elderly people, and colorfully clad dancers perform a beautiful dance routine that brings the song’s message to life.
The video also provides an emotional surge with well-placed shots of Mohbad staring down at the city while his music spreads delight across it.
‘Ewgu’ follows Chike’s 2023 release ‘Ego Oyibo’, as he prepares audiences for the release of his third album.
