Clermont holds struggling PSG side to a draw

After being held to a goalless draw by Ligue 1 strugglers Clermont, Paris St-Germain have recorded their poorest start to a season under new owners Qatar Sports Investment.
As a result, Luis Enrique’s team has 12 points after seven league games, its lowest total at this time in a season since the 2010-11 season.
Although the return of Kylian Mbappe, who limped off in last weekend’s 4-0 win over Marseille, lifted the French champions, he had a tough afternoon and was penalized for diving late in the game.
Mory Diaw, the Clermont goalkeeper who used to play for PSG, performed brilliantly to deny Mbappe, Randal Kolo Muani, and Ousmane Dembele before the break.
His greatest save came in the second half, when he clawed away a Goncalo Ramos shot despite going to the ground early, and he finished with a critical save to deny Danilo Pereira’s header.
PSG enters Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Newcastle in second place in Ligue 1, one point behind surprise leaders Brest, who have a game in hand.
