Court of Appeal upholds Bala Mohammed’s election as Bauchi Governor

The election of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has been upheld by the Appeal Court in Abuja.
In the March 18 governorship election, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Bala of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the winner.
However, Sadique Abubakar, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, challenged the election results and sought redress in court.
The Bauchi State Governorship Election Tribunal rejected the APC candidate’s plea, affirming Bala’s election.
Sadique, on the other hand, took the case to the appeals court, claiming that the March 18 election was tainted by irregularities.
However, in a unanimous decision on Friday, the panel of three justices affirmed the tribunal’s verdict.
