Court sentence Police officer to death for shooting and killing Omobolanle Raheem in Lagos

For killing a lawyer from Lagos, Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem, on the previous Christmas Day, police officer Darambi Vandi was condemned to death by hanging by Justice Ibironke Harrison of a Lagos High Court.

His claim that he didn’t shoot the victim has no merit, according to Justice Harrison, who is presiding over the case at the Tafawa Balewa Square annex division of the Lagos State High Court.

On the basis of the prosecution’s witnesses, who provided “overwhelming circumstantial evidence” against him, he was found guilty.

The defendant, who was the lone witness, claimed to the court that the loud boom that was heard by the eyewitnesses was caused by a fire cracker in his denial of the one count accusation.

The judge ruled that there is no other defense because a Banger cannot have killed her.

Due to the fact that he was the only witness in his defense, the court ruled that he did not offer any additional justification or contradictory expert testimony.
