Crises rock APC female NEC members as leaders reject Betta Edu over Presidential visit

The All Progressives Congress (APC)’s elected female national offices and zonal women leaders have expressed their displeasure with Betta Edu, the party’s national women leader, in what appears to be a developing crisis.

This was revealed on Saturday in a letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from Hon. Omorede Osifo, the APC’s deputy national treasurer, and eight other female leaders.

Recall that two days earlier, Edu and APC leaders paid Tinubu a visit at the Presidential Villa.

Edu has faced a unanimous vote of no confidence from the APC-elected women executives and zonal leaders, who have also distanced themselves from her recent trip to the White House.

When Edu visited the Presidential Villa, they charged her with lying and promoting herself.

Accordingly, they declared that, in contrast to media rumors, Edu does not speak for the party’s elected national women officials and zonal women leaders.

Many of the women who were paraded, including members of the National Executive Council, zonal women leaders, three female senators, fifteen female members of the House of Representatives, and other important women leaders and stakeholders, they claimed, were not the democratically elected national officers.

The female leader who had been wronged begged Tinubu to listen to their complaints.
