David Adeleke, aka Davido, of Nigerian Afrobeats star, is overjoyed to have been named a Grammy nominee.
The ‘OBO’ singer received three nominations for the 66th Grammy Awards.
His fourth studio album, ‘Timeless,’ received a nomination for Best Global Music Album, while ‘Unavailable’ and ‘Feel’ received nominations for Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Performance, respectively.
Celebrating his success, the overjoyed singer tweeted on his X account,
“3 nominations at the Grammys! Delay is not denial!”
Davido will contest with his compatriot, Burna Boy and Arooj Aftab, Silvana Estrada, Béla Fleck, Falu and Gaurav Shah for the Best Global Music Performance gong.
He would also lock horns with Burna Boy, Susana Baca, Shakti, and Bokante in the Best Global Music Album category.
In the Best African Music Performance category, he will face off with familiar names – Asake, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy and South Africa’s Tyla.
