Injuries have also ruled out Raphael Varane (muscle), Luke Shaw (muscle), Tom Heaton (calf), Tyrell Malacia (muscle), Kobbie Mainoo (ankle), and Amad Diallo (knee).
With a back ailment, new signing Sofyan Amrabat is doubtful, but Manchester United reportedly hopes to have the Moroccan available to face Brighton.
Lisandro Martinez and Mason Mount may also be able to play against Brighton if they recover fully from foot and hamstring problems, respectively.
Marcus Rashford, who scored against Arsenal in the previous encounter, is expected to continue on the left wing, with Rasmus Hojlund or Anthony Martial leading the line.
