Ex Super Eagles goalkeeper seeks top coaching job
Peter Rufai, a former Super Eagles goalie, has expressed interest in joining the team’s coaching staff.
One of the best goalkeepers to have come out of Nigeria is Rufai, according to legend.
The 59-year-old has played 65 times for the three-time champions of Africa.
Since his retirement from competitive football, the former Lokeren goalie has never been associated with the national team.
Rufai, though, has entered the race to be the Super Eagles’ goalkeeper.
“I’m ready for them. To show them techniques of goalkeeping. I’m waiting to be one of the Super Eagles coaches sometime, someday,” Rufai said on Sports Salsa (Kennis 104.1FM).
“We have to get it right. We have goalkeepers but something is missing. You can’t give what you don’t have… we have the talents. Goalkeeping goes beyond catching the ball.”
