Family announce funeral arrangement for Access Holdings CEO, Wigwe, wife, son

Herbert Wigwe, CEO of Access Holdings Plc, and two other members of his family were sadly killed in a helicopter collision near the California-Nevada border recently.
Plans to commemorate the lives of Herbert Wigwe (1966-2024), his wife, and son run from March 4 to March 10, 2024, according to a timetable seen by this reporter. The gloomy events include a variety of ceremonies and services to honor the deceased souls.
The Bankers Committee will celebrate Herbert on Monday, March 4, 2024, followed by a Service of Songs for Chizzy on Tuesday morning, March 5, 2024, and another Service of Songs for the deceased Wigwes that evening.
On Wednesday, March 6, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., a remembrance event will honor Herbert’s significant achievements in the Social Impact Space, followed by an Evening Service of Songs for Herbert at Redeemed Christian Church in City of David Parish.
Thursday, March 7, is set aside for a Service of Songs at Herbert’s father’s parish, in addition to the melancholy chores of traveling to PH for Chizzy’s funeral service and interment, as well as hosting a Service of Songs for Herbert and his wife.
According to the itinerary, Friday, March 8 will be the final farewell, with funeral services and interments planned for both Herbert and Mrs. Wigwe.
Saturday, March 9 will be a day of welcoming guests, while Sunday, March 10 will end in a Thanksgiving Service to honor the lives and legacies of the deceased.
Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe, a renowned Nigerian banker and entrepreneur, died at the age of 57. As CEO of Access Holdings Plc and former Group Managing Director/CEO of Access Bank Plc, he helped develop a small commercial bank into a worldwide financial organization.
Herbert was born on August 15, 1966, to Ikwerre parents from Omueke Isiokpo, Rivers State, and received his secondary education at St. Gregory’s College in Lagos. He later earned a degree in accounting from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1987.
